A Spring Hill Cottage

Spring Hill.  My old stomping ground.  It’s unusual to see a Queenslander painted in a colour other than a white or neutral colour.  So it was a nice surprise to stumble across this adorable little Spring Hill cottage.

Exterior

There really is nothing like a cute little character cottage, like those found in inner-Brisbane suburbs, like these in Spring Hill and Kangaroo Point.  This cottage is no exception.  The only difference is the exterior paint colour –  I guess it’s dark grey, bordering on black.  Such a difference to the usual colours of whites, pale greys and beiges. It is stunning.  I adore the little verandahs or porches at the front of these homes and that white picket fence is such a great contrast to the dark exterior.

Much like the old Spring Hill cottage that I lived in, this home has off-street parking along the side of the home.

Living spaces

This little space reminds me so much of the little cottage I used to live in in Spring Hill.  It wasn’t anywhere close to be as cute as this one but it had an almost identical floor plan.  This room is so bright and I love that they have kept the natural wood tones in this home.  The windows are exquisite.

Eating spaces

The kitchen is tucked into the back of the home.

Sleeping spaces

This is a two bedroom cottage, one with an ensuite (which is very unusual in a home this size).

Outdoor spaces

This home is on a corner block.  I love the wooden seat, sitting out among the trees.  I’d add a little table with some chairs for my morning coffee.
